John Hennigan, also known as Johnny Nitro, is a professional wrestler, currently working for World Wrestling Entertainment.
Career He, along with Matt Cappotelli was the winner of WWE's Tough Enough III, earning a WWE contract. In 2004, John was introduced as RAW General Manager Eric Bischoff's apprentice, an storyline that had moderate success but was scrapped. It was during this storyline that he began using the name Johnny Nitro, a reference to Monday Nitro, the flagship program of WCW, the company which Bischoff was president of for several years. He was sent to Ohio Valley Wrestling for more seasoning.
Hennigan debuted on SmackDown! on April 14, 2005, attacking Rey Mysterio. He is now part of the group MNM with Joey Mercury and Melina. On the following edition of SmackDown!, the team of Nitro and Mercury went on to win the tag belts from Mysterio and his partner Eddie Guerrero.
After successfully defending the championships against Charlie Haas and Hardcore Holly at Judgment Day 2005, they lost the titles on July 24, 2005 to Heidenreich and Animal.
